St. Matthew Council 10852

CHARITY      •      FAITH      •      UNITY      •      PATRIOTISM

Welcome!

We are the Knights of Columbus St. Matthew Council 10852.  Our Council has the largest number of members in North Carolina and we are affiliated with St. Matthew Catholic Church, which is the largest Roman Catholic church congregation in the United States.

St. Matthew Council 10852 was established on April 1, 1992, by the Supreme Council and under the sponsorship of St. Vincent de Paul Council 9560. There were 74 charter members of the council and they elected Mr. James Nass as the council’s first Grand Knight.

The vision and leadership of the Council’s Grand Knights have directed the membership to accomplish many great things. Throughout the Council’s history its membership steadily increased to over 400 Knights! Over the years the activities of our council clearly manifest the primary principle of the Knights of Columbus:

In Service To One, In Service To All.

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut in 1882, it was named in honor of the explorer Christopher Columbus.
